Birds Over La Paz
This was another M. Night Shyamalan moment. He had some great movies, however The Happening wasn’t one of them. The premise was great, the production was not. On the other hand, things like this always make me think of it.
I don’t recall what I was doing, but I looked out Sampaguita‘s companionway and there was this flock of birds just soaring over this one particular spot of La Paz. There was some wind but it seemed more like convection heat holding them there. It has been very hot the last couple of days. I don’t know, it just made me feel something.

Must have been something in the universe. I was driving to work yesterday morning and the sun was rise, reflecting pink off the mountains and there were the small dazzling white birds just gliding. They were gulls of some type which always strikes me odd here in Colorado as I tend to think of them as ocean side birds. Mine birds weren’t foreboding though, just sparkly.

They weren’t foreboding, which I guess could be misunderstood from the movie reference. Just a mysterious natural happening juxtaposed over human landscape. It’s kind of peaceful to focus on the birds effortlessly soaring, seemingly doing nothing.

Yes. I think in the moving they were meant to be ominous. I love watching birds ride thermals. We have two eagles over the lake that are just fun to watch
